Kate has been painting professionally for over 30 years and has exhibited widely. She has become known for her atmospheric charcoal drawings and paintings, which often depict rural working life and celebrate ancient farming, trades, crafts and traditions in the West Country.

She has spent years with Somerset willow growers and basket-makers, shepherds and beekeepers, making drawings, paintings and oral recordings, and the resulting exhibitions have toured nationally.

Kate has also coordinated many large-scale community art projects, which can be seen in Frome Hospital, libraries and other public buildings. She runs occasional drawing workshops.

She and her husband, painter James Lynch, sometimes open their Somerset Levels studios to invited visitors. For more information, visit www.katelynch.co.uk
