AFTER NEARLY TWO years of research, Julian and Jan Richards of Milestone Design Ltd, Ilkley, Yorkshire have succeeded in producing the UK’s first kitchen built entirely from recycled materials.

Branded the KORC (Kitchen of Recycled Content) and made from yoghurt pots, fruit crates, vending-machine cups, wood trimmings and old pallets, it is tipped to be one of the most popular designs for our homes over the next decade. Designed in contemporary style, it ticks all the boxes for a good-quality, ecologically sound, sustainable build and even features economical, low-energy lighting.
