THINK GLOBALLY BAKE locally. This is the slogan of our micro-bakery, Market Row Bakers, in Brixton. The bakery’s launch on Sunday 27th August this year coincided with the first ‘Slow Sunday’ promoted by Resurgence.

Embarking on a Slow Sunday seems to be a good way to end the week. It suggests spending a day in character neither sloppy nor frantic, whereas most Sundays are often both: divided between an unnerving motorway trip to visit relatives and the couch in front of the screen to recover. Baking, too, acts as a remedy.
