ONE OF THE perks of being Craft Editor for Resurgence is meeting amazing people. Today I visited Yuli Somme, who has been making wonderful pieces in felt for years, and who is now expanding into a major project that unites all of her passions: shrouds.

Yuli’s passion for wool was there at a very young age. She was born and lived in Norway until she was five, when her Norwegian father died. Then she and her English mother and siblings came to England. Norway has a strong tradition of weaving, embroidery, knitting and felted knitting, so perhaps this was an early influence.
