A colleague contacted me recently with information about a new project he’d initiated in western Kenya to reduce deforestation and carbon emissions through clean cooking-stove technology. The project is being funded via an online ‘giving platform’ called betterplace.org. I took a good look at the project’s aims and objectives and felt enthused enough to become a Project Supporter by making a small financial contribution – but I could equally have supported the organisation by giving my time or services such as website design.
