Assume for a moment that Brexit does indeed mean Brexit. There are still millions of UK citizens who sincerely hope that’s not the case (a much smaller number of whom are involved in various petitions and initiatives), as well as a potential grouping in the House of Lords that believes that “an advisory referendum” is no more than that. Looking forward, however, we have to work on the assumption that in no more than two or three years’ time the UK will no longer be a member of the European Union.
