In 2021, just as we were all emerging from the shock of a global pandemic – and maybe even living through yet another iteration of lockdown – I was commissioned to write a book on hope. It was a sign, I think, of where we all wanted to be heading, a kind of new landscape where we would choose to be hopeful against all odds and keep putting one hopeful foot in front of the other. In other words, and although we never said this explicitly, this little book was all about Active Hope.
