STRAW-BALE HOUSING is not the most obvious thing to find on a low-income housing estate in inner city Bristol. But the Knowle West Media Centre is not typical in many regards. This pioneering centre, dedicated to engaging local people with environmental issues and local media projects, is now aiming to construct a new eco-friendly HQ from straw bales, and has launched a drive to persuade sponsors to ‘buy a bale’ to help them fund it.
