My Account and Signing In - Frequently Asked Questions

You may use this website without having an account. However, creating an account has benefits.

What does it mean to ‘create an account’ on the website?

Creating an account means providing us with your name, email address and contact details.

What does it mean to ‘sign in’?

When you create an account, we will send you a password, by email. When you visit the web site again in the future, you can enter your email address and password on the sign in page in order to identify yourself.

What are the benefits of having an account?

When you create an account, we will give you free online access to a recent sample copy of Resurgence & Ecologist magazine. You will also gain free online access to the archive of Ecologist Magazine for the years 1970-1999.

When you wish to make a shop purchase, just sign in and you will not need to provide all your details again.

If you buy your membership subscription online, then once you sign in you'll be able to access your magazine issues on the website. You will also gain access to the Ecologist Magazine archive for the years 2000-2012. This applies to e-memberships and print memberships. As long as you remain a member, you will also have access to the whole online Resurgence & Ecologist Magazine article archive.

I am already a member of Resurgence - don't I already have an account?

Yes, you do, but in order to sign in, you will need a password. See the Online Acccess for Members help page.

How do I create an account?

Just fill in your details on the Create Account form.

The email address you provide will be the one used for all communications between you and Resurgence.

Its telling me an account already exists with my email address

If you are trying to create an account, and you get this message, this means that you (or someone else) have already created an account with this email address. Please check that you have entered your email address correctly.

If your email address is correctly shown, then there is no need to provide your details again. You simply need to sign in. You will need your password. If you do not know what your password is, you can use the sign in form to request a password reminder. Enter your email address carefully, and click 'Send Reminder'. Your password will be emailed to you.

I entered my details, but didnt receive an email with my password

Within a few minutes of entering your details, you should receive an email containing your password. If you didn't receive this, please check your spam folder. If you still cant find the email, it could be that the email got lost on its way to you, or it could be that you accidentally mis-typed your email address. The best thing to do is to use the sign in form to request a password reminder. See below for more details.

Lost your password or email address?

If you have lost your password you can use the sign in form to request a password reminder. Enter your email address carefully, and click 'Send Reminder'. Your password will be emailed to you.

If you have several email addresses, and can't remember which one you gave us, try using the sign in form to request a password reminder for each of your email addresses in turn.

I asked for a password reminder, but didnt receive an email

Within a few minutes of requesting a password reminder, you should receive an email containing your password. If you didn't receive this email, please check your spam folder. Also, please check that you entered your email address correctly.

If you still cant find the email, it could be that the email got lost on its way to you. Please try requesting a reminder again.

If this still does not work, it could be that you accidentally mis-typed your email address when you first gave us your details. Please contact the membership department, and explain what has happened.

Its telling me my email address is not registered

If you are trying to sign in, or get a password reminder, and you receive a message telling you that your email address is not registered on this web site, it could be for one of the following reasons:

Its telling me I have entered the wrong password

If you receive this message when you try to sign in, it means that the password you have entered is not the correct one for the email address you have entered. Please re-enter your email address and password carefully. Your password is case-sensistive. It may contain a mixture of capital letters, small letters, digits and other symbols. Please take care to enter it exactly; you cannot interchange capital letters and small letters. It may be easiest for you to cut and paste your password from the email which notified you of your password.

If you find it hard to enter your password, you can change it to a password of your own choosing. You will need to sign in and then go to the User Details page.

Lost access to your email address?

If you registered with an email address that you no longer have access to, please contact the membership department, explain what has happened, and ask them to correct your email address.
