In view of the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), effective from 25th May 2018, we want to provide you with information about our data protection policy and response to the new legislation.

Background

Everyone has the right to privacy

Resurgence values and respects everyone’s right to privacy and protection of personal data. The GDPR legislation brings in stricter controls on how organisations can use, keep and manage data personal data. We welcome this legislation as it protects everyone and safeguards personal data, bringing organisations into line and shielding everyone from unwanted spam. We do not sell or barter your data in any form.

Email lists used for updates and marketing

At Resurgence we have always had a positive ‘opt-in’ policy when it comes to sending out information about Resurgence, our magazine, and our events. Everyone on our mailing list has, at some point, agreed to receive information from us.

To ensure that we are conforming with the privacy policy, we are asking all those who register or log in to the website to confirm that they have read and agree to the Terms and Conditions, and that they are over 13.

There are some communications that we need to send in order to fulfil our promise to you as a member, donor, or buyer of goods and services, e.g. servicing a membership, transaction messages, Direct Debit schedules and booking or purchase confirmation.

Children’s personal data

Individual membership and gift membership to the Resurgence Trust are available to anyone over the age of 13. Anyone under the age of 13 will not be permitted to register on the Resurgence website.

Third-party data

We do not buy anonymous external data or combine external data with your personal data in order to build profiles.

Keeping Your Information

We will only use and store your information for as long as it is required for the purposes it was collected for. We will delete your personal data if you do not log in to the website for a long period. You may ask us to delete your personal data sooner if you wish.
