This project is inspired by the cenotes in Yucatán, Mexico. I am fascinated by the history behind these geographical formations. Cenotes are unique underground bodies of water that resulted from an asteroid collision, and they hold myths, legends and hidden histories. Their ecosystem is being challenged and affected by the infrastructure and developments built in the area. These natural sinkholes are connected. It is a rich system, and whenever one is destroyed the rest suffer consequences.
