Satish Kumar: You recently organised a wonderful HUMUS gathering. The Latin word humus means ‘soil’. You brought together so many wonderful speakers and participants. What was the idea behind it?

Livia Giuggioli: Well, it started with you, Satish. Four years ago you came to our farm, Quintosapore, in Umbria, and also visited Fattoria La Vialla, a 1,000-hectare organic and biodynamic farm in Tuscany.
