In July 2015 I was contacted by Form, an arts organisation in Perth, Western Australia, asking whether I would be interested in applying for the land art commission for the New Perth Stadium being built across the Swan River from the city. As an artist who makes work about our relationship to land and who has worked all over the world on a wide range of public commissions, I was interested – the budget was big enough to make something ambitious.
