POLLUTION: PLASTIC FIBRES FOUND IN GLOBAL TAP WATER

Microscopic plastic fibres have been found to contaminate 83% of tap water samples from five continents, according to research by Orb Media. At 94%, the United States had the highest contamination rate, with the lowest recorded at 72% in Europe. The University of Minnesota School of Public Health tested 159 samples, using a standard technique to factor out contamination from other sources.
