Inspired by the Save Soil movement, my work aims to draw attention to the fragile relationship between human activity and the health of the land beneath us. By emphasising the beauty and abundance of the natural world, and the intimate bond between soil and plant life, this artwork, ‘Source’, invites a deeper awareness of what is often ignored or taken for granted. At a time when soil degradation threatens ecosystems and future generations, making art becomes, for me, an act of witness and care.

I am drawn to the medium of printmaking because of its potential to create layers. Each printed layer builds upon the last, much like soil accumulating over time, or plant life emerging through the seasons.
