I was reading the news and wondering what there is left to say about radical hope. Is there anything still to be said about hope in a world that watches as the genocide in Gaza continues undisturbed by any pretensions of a ceasefire, and as Sudan’s war displaces thousands of people – not to speak of the details, of livestreamed videos capturing raw despair? In the face of this, it is easy to feel hopeless. So, what is left to say about hope? Of course, witnessing these events from the relative safety of the UK means staying hopeful.
