Jaimie Cahlil
My work as both artist and psychotherapist is naturally 'transpersonal'. Those drawn to my drawings and paintings often express how soulful, moving and profoundly transformative some of these pictures are for them. This is how my paintings affect me, too. (I often paint with tears in my eyes and joy in my heart.)
My transpersonal awareness became conscious when I was about five years old, when something life-changing occurred: as I sat daydreaming in school (as I often did), the softest, most powerful light entered through the crown of my head and into my heart. Instantly, I knew: "I am loved..." beyond time-space. So the healingful light of immense presence (the oneness in which we are held) is naturally present in my work. In early childhood, I recall my philosophy was, in essence, "We are all here together - as ONE" (and then wondering, "Why are some people unkind to one another?")
Later, through meditation - which I initially created to open myself to intuitive receiving, before receiving formal guidance - my experience of spacious awareness became a way of being. My sources of inspiration? Essentially whatever comes IN - through heart, feeling-sensing, and intuitive consciousness (and through colours, textures and evolving shapes).
As my conscious awareness increases, the urge to share my drawings and paintings intensifies - moved to assist a little with the 'spiritual awakening' our world needs with its widespread personal and social disconnect and the consequential loss of connection with deep self and loss of connection with our earthly home. With this in mind, I encourage potential purchasers (at cost price to me) to offer my pictures to public homes - such as centres for therapy, meditation, community gatherings, as well as hospitals and hospices.
Transpersonal therapy echoes this, working as I do within the spiritual context of 'immense presence' (of oneness) in which we are 'tenderly held'.
