Based in Gordon's Bay, South Africa, Kate Jonker is an accomplished underwater photographer and writer, co-founder of Indigo Scuba diving centre, and a judge for underwater photography competitions. Her photographs capture the ocean's vibrant life, from tiny nudibranchs to the largest of sea creatures. A qualified dive boat skipper and guide, Kate is committed to ocean preservation through her images and storytelling. She offers one-to-one coaching via Zoom and online workshops to empower other underwater photographers, blending artistry, education and advocacy to celebrate and protect marine wonders.
Kate's photograph of a black nudibranch (Tambja capensis) in Gordon's Bay illustrates the introduction to our 'Ocean glories' themed pages in Issue 345 of Resurgence & Ecologist (July/August 2024).
