Inspired by the natural world, Lisa Hooper’s print works capture the essence of South West Scotland, where she lives.

Lisa’s work is varied in terms of both technique and subject matter, but her passion for landscape and for natural history, particularly birds, is evident in much of her work.

Working from her studio at home, Lisa creates linocuts, woodcuts and etchings. She has developed a technique for producing batik pictures on paper and has been exploring the ancient craft of Japanese woodblock.

You may be familiar with Lisa’s work already as she regularly supplies the RSPB with her artwork for Christmas cards. For Christmas 2012 her work will also be presented on an Amnesty International card. Lisa is the winner of two awards at the National Exhibition of Wildlife Art and was one of 22 artists to feature in Wildlife in Printmaking, edited by Carry Akroyd (Langford Press).
