POPULATION MATTERS

I am astonished that Rowland Dye (Letters, Issue 293) should take exception to the inclusion of a flyer for Population Matters in Resurgence & Ecologist Issue 291.

If he really thinks that addressing the problem of population growth is a “convenient distraction”, he is much mistaken. Surely readers of this journal agree that endless growth on a finite planet is unsustainable: that must apply to population growth as much as to economic growth.

The Optimum Population Trust is not, as Mr Dye claims, blaming the victim. It is fully aware that if there are too many ...
