CROSSROADS

I am sorry that you have included the article by Helen Beynon in your latest edition (The Road Ahead, Issue 325). She seems to go to the extreme about roads. She is demanding that we stop trying to create a road system that is adequate for the traffic that has developed crossing from one area of the country to another.

She picks on Stonehenge, which I know is tricky, but it is a bottleneck on a major east–west highway at a point where there has already been a huge delay whilst archaeological research ...
